The APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Program is the first-ever comprehensive educational curriculum designed to help Ob-Gyn professors teach women's health more effectively. The program's purpose is to improve Ob-Gyn education by offering motivated faculty the skills they need to enhance all aspects of scholarship and leadership.
The vigorous 15-month program focuses on four major components:
- curriculum and instruction
- measurement and evaluation
- research and statistics
- leadership and management

APGO/Academic Scholars and Leaders Program Task Force:
The APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Program Task Force selects and mentors the scholars for this educational program.
In January of each year, APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders members begin work on projects designed to help them become outstanding teachers and leaders in the field of women's health. Each scholar selects a local mentor from his or her academic department to provide guidance throughout the course of the program. They graduate in March of the following year.
