Conference Information:

The CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting will be held February 27 – March 1, 2023 at the Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center in National Harbor, MD.

This year’s theme is Building Bridges: Creating Connection in Medical Education. Educational sub-topics to use in your submission are:

  • Avoiding the Potholes: Bridging the UME/GME and GME/Practice Transitions
  • Bolstering the Support Beams: Faculty Development
  • Designing the Structure: Innovation in Curriculum Design and Navigating External Challenges
  • Extending the Road: Strategies for Improving Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Medical Education
  • Maintaining the Strength: Trainee and Faculty Wellness

The APGO and ACOG community is committed to the elimination of systemic racism and the resultant disparities in health care and the learning environment. Presenters are encouraged to consider and plan to specifically mention how contributions to the 2023 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting would be applicable in this regard.

*You are registering for the CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting scheduled to be held in-person February 27 – March 1, 2023 at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, MD. We have determined that if for any reason we are unable to conduct the meeting in person, we will not be able to offer a hybrid, virtual, or on-demand meeting this year.

COVID Policy

ACOG and APGO support following CDC guidelines which include vaccination and being current on boosters with mask recommendations tied to local transmission rates. As such, mask recommendations will evolve as meeting time approaches.

Cancellation Policy

All registration and ticket cancellation, substitution and refund requests must be made in writing. Cancellations received on or before February 13, 2023 , will result in a refund minus a 25% administrative fee. No refunds will be issued after February 13, 2023 . 

Refunds will not be given for no-shows. In rare cases, exceptions may be made. Any requests for exceptions to the cancellation/refund policy must be submitted in writing.

Photo/Video Release

During the Annual Meeting, attendees, vendors, guests and exhibitors may be photographed by the CREOG & APGO official photographers/videographers. Call for Oral Abstracts, Posters, Breakouts, Small Group Discussions, and Films


The Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG) and the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) invite you to submit a proposal for a breakout session, small group discussion, oral abstract, poster, and/or film at the
2023 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting.

Important: Submitted abstracts may not be presented at any other meeting or published in any journal before the meeting.


Our 2023 theme is Building Bridges: Creating Connection in Medical Education. Educational sub-topics to use in your submission are:

Type of presentations include:

  • Breakout Sessions: hour-long, interactive sessions with audiovisuals designed to facilitate an exchange of information, ideas, and educational strategies among a large group of participants
  • Small Group Discussions: hour-long, interactive sessions designed to have the same overarching goals in a more intimate group of up to 25 people (no audiovisuals)
  • Oral Abstracts and Posters: presentations of research and educational innovations
  • Film Festival Submissions: short films pertinent to women's health education (no longer than 10 minutes and must be uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo)

Become a Big Deal! Awards have been established to encourage research and knowledge dissemination about obstetrics and gynecology. The awards offered at this meeting include:

  • Student or Resident Award for Excellence in Educational Research
    One $500.00 award for best oral abstract or poster
  • Oral Abstract Presentation Awards
    Three awards given, 1st place $500.00, 2nd place, $300.00, 3rd place $200.00
  • Poster Presentation Awards
    Three awards given, 1st place $300.00, 2nd place $150.00, 3rd place $100.00
  • APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders Alumni Oral and Poster Awards
    Two awards given, one for best oral abstract presentation, $500.00, and one for best poster presentation, $300.00, from submissions by graduates of the APGO Academic Scholars and Leaders program between 2017-2022.

APGO Abstract Catalog The APGO Abstract Catalog is an interactive database of oral and poster abstracts presented at CREOG & APGO Annual Meetings that can be used as a resource to determine what has been presented at past meetings. Access the catalog.

Peer Review All submissions will be peer-reviewed anonymously by members of CREOG and APGO.

Submission deadline has passed.

Please read the submission rules before submitting an abstract.

  • Abstracts must be submitted online via the website only. ABSTRACTS SUBMITTED BY EMAIL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • Abstracts must be received by the deadline. Abstracts received after the deadline will not be considered.
  • If selected, presenting authors must be registered participants.
  • The submitter/presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract and agree to its submission before submitting the abstract.
  • Data or studies in a complete abstract that has been previously published in a peer-reviewed journal will not be accepted.
  • Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: All authors will be required to submit a disclosure form via the submission system and disclose any conflict of interest.

We recognize that the evolving COVID-19 situation will continue to reshape the way meetings are held, and this may result in changes to the CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting. CREOG & APGO are monitoring this closely and will be in touch if format changes are required for your submission.

Please note the hotel may sell out before the cutoff date. Availability is on a first-come, first-served, space available basis.
