Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Educational Resources Work Group

Charge

  • Identify the educational gaps and resources needed to support undergraduate medical education in comprehensive reproductive health care in states where legislation limits clinical experience
  • Develop a list of prioritized resources that APGO can develop to address these gaps

Work Group Structure
The Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Educational Resources Work Group will consist of one Chair and 15 members. Due to the nature of its work, this group will be constituted to maximize geographic diversity, particularly from areas where there are limits to reproductive care and access.

Term of Service
Six months, beginning in February 2023.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO with active APGO individual membership
  • Demonstrated commitment to the APGO mission and values
  • Active participation in recent APGO meetings, programs, and activities

Expectations

  • Know APGO’s mission, purposes, goals, policies, programs, services, strengths, and needs, including familiarity with the APGO website and your individual member portal
  • Commit to serving APGO’s mission, purposes, goals, policies, programs, services, strengths, and needs when participating in APGO activities
  • Maintain active APGO individual membership for the duration of service
  • Have knowledge of the subject area in which the work group functions
  • Possess a clear understanding of the position, role of the association management staff, and the need for a close and positive working relationship

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in work group projects and assignments ensuring all deadlines are met and APGO’s high standards of integrity and quality are maintained
  • Actively participate in work group meetings, having reviewed the agenda and materials in advance
  • Ask timely and substantive questions at work group meetings consistent with your conscience and convictions, while supporting the majority decision on issues decided by the work group and the APGO Board of Directors
  • Complete any assignments between meetings

Relationship with Staff

  • Work collegially with designated APGO staff on all work group matters
  • Avoid asking for special favors of the staff, including requests for extensive information, without at least prior consultation with the executive director or appropriate work group chair

Time Commitment
The Comprehensive Reproductive Health Care Educational Resources Work Group will meet often during its short term, with additional work being done in between meetings as determined by the group itself.
