| 2025 APGO Board of Directors Slate – Helen K. Morgan, MD |
Helen Kang Morgan, MD - At-Large Board MemberInstitution: University of Michigan Statement of Qualifications and Biosketch What was your first experience with APGO? As a junior faculty, I remember feeling very overwhelmed by all the medical education acronyms in the APGO Clerkship Directors’ School introductory lecture. It highlighted the many skills and attributes that are needed for a medical educator that are not necessarily taught during our training to become physicians. Why did you want to join the APGO Board of Directors? Intentional leadership is vital during times of uncertainty, and the work of the APGO Board is of utmost importance to its members during these challenging times. I feel so privileged to get to serve on the APGO Board during these times. What has APGO meant to you during your career? APGO is my home, and it has been pivotally important during every phase of my career development. As a junior faculty, I found my people through the APGO Scholars and Leaders program. Receiving a Medical Endowment Grant to create companion videos for the APGO Medical Student Educational Objectives was an opportunity of a lifetime that I will forever be grateful for you. And finally, I was very privileged to serve on UMEC as a member and as chair. What is one personal contribution you hope to make during your term on the APGO Board of Directors? I hope that I can prioritize faculty support and inclusivity during my term on the APGO Board. Now more than ever, our members need to feel our support. |
