Committees and Task Forces

APGO has several committees and task forces that work to organize all aspects of the APGO's efforts, including fundraising, endowments, and undergraduate medical education. To get involved or for more information about committee objectives email the APGO office.

The APGO Board of Directors strives to maximize inclusivity by promoting diversity in obstetric and gynecologic medical education. Applications are encouraged from all candidates.

Academic Scholars & Leaders Advisory Committee
The committee supports the Academic Scholars & Leaders (ASL) Program policies and issues by selecting scholars, creating curricula, and providing guidance to program advisors.

Awards Selection Committee
The committee reviews, evaluates, and ranks proposals, applications, and nominations to select recipients of APGO awards. The committee also reviews and evaluates APGO-awarded project deliverables.

Corporate Liaison Council
The CLC serves as a collaborating council of industry representatives and the ob-gyn medical education community. Industry partners meet with APGO Board members to discuss common goals and develop initiatives to ensure a bright future for ob-gyn health care education.

Development Committee
The committee provides grants for new project initiatives, raises unrestricted funds for identified and unidentified projects, and spearheads liaison activities with the APGO Corporate Liaison Council (CLC).

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Guidelines Task Force
The task force is creating new educational standards to provide guidance and expectations for the review of existing and the development of new APGO resources.

Finance and Audit Committee
The committee oversees APGO’s operational budget and manages the organization’s investment policy and endowment assets.

MECCOG Leadership Committee
The committee facilitates and promotes professionalism and continued dedication to undergraduate medical education among ob-gyn clerkship coordinators.

Surgical Education Scholars Advisory Committee
The committee is a team of distinguished surgical educators who plan and execute the APGO Surgical Education Scholars (SES) Program by developing and delivering curricula, as well as selecting and mentoring scholars.

Testing & Self-Assessment Committee
The committee writes new test bank questions and performs qualitative and quantitative analysis and revisions of existing questions for the proprietary APGO uWISE and APGO PrepforRes online self-assessments.

Undergraduate Medical Education Committee
The committee facilitates the improvement of undergraduate medical education through a focus on faculty development and innovative teaching methods for medical education. UMEC produces faculty motivational and developmental programs, proposes minimum knowledge and skill requirements for undergraduates, identifies, develops, and evaluates content of learning materials and testing instruments, and promotes production of quality instructional materials.
