Each year, APGO issues a call for volunteers to fill open positions on the APGO Board of Directors. In 2025, APGO will recruit six new Board Members who will each serve for a three-year term, along with a President-Elect, who will serve for a two-year term before becoming President, and a Secretary/Treasurer-Elect who will serve a one-year term before becoming Secretary/Treasurer. Please read on to learn about eligibility and selection criteria, board member responsibilities, and information on how to apply.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Board Member applicants must:

  1. Be an APGO member in good standing for a period of at least three years, consecutively
  2. Have a record of active participation and interest in APGO activities and objectives
  3. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
  4. Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals, and objectives
  5. Communicate effectively
  6. Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner

Secretary/Treasurer-Elect applicants must:

  1. Be an APGO member in good standing for a period of at least five years consecutively
  2. Have a record of past leadership positions within APGO and other ob-gyn specialty organizations
  3. Have an understanding of, and interest in non-profit financial processes
  4. Demonstrate participation and interest in APGO activities and objectives
  5. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
  6. Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals and objectives
  7. Communicate effectively
  8. Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner

President-Elect applicants must:

  1. Be an APGO member in good standing for a period of at least six years, consecutively
  2. Have a record of past leadership positions within APGO and other ob-gyn specialty organizations
  3. Demonstrate participation and interest in APGO activities and objectives
  4. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings
  5. Understand and honor the Association’s overall core values, goals and objectives
  6. Communicate effectively
  7. Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner
