APGO Medical Student Educational Objectives

About ETs and Mapped
APGO Resources
Use Case

The APGO Medical Student Educational Objectives (MSOs) define a central body of ob-gyn health knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are fundamental to the practice of a general physician. The APGO MSOs include a comprehensive list of ob-gyn educational topics with intended learning outcomes that have been mapped to the following educational categories: level of competence, instructional methods, assessment methods, ACGME competencies, heath systems science, emerging topics, APGO resources, and Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs).

The APGO MSOs are intended to be a resource for clerkship directors, faculty, and students for curriculum development, teaching, and learning. They are not meant to be a mandate for curricular content. Rather, the curriculum content can be expanded or modified based upon program needs. Over several editions, more than 100 ob-gyn clerkship directors and medical educators on the APGO Undergraduate Medical Education Committee from both the United States and Canada have refined these objectives, with the goal of making this resource as useful as possible for educators and learners.

Access to the APGO Medical Student Educational Objectives, Teaching Cases (Faculty version), and the Curriculum Builder is an APGO-member benefit.
