Application Process
Interested applicants apply for the Awards Selection Committee through a competitive application and interview process. The Awards Selection Committee Chair will submit a recommendation for new members to the APGO President for approval.

APGO is committed to fostering an inclusive environment throughout the organization and expects committee members to be part of those efforts.

Qualifications

  • MD, DO or PhD with active APGO individual membership
  • Demonstrated commitment to the APGO mission and values
  • Active participation in recent APGO meetings, programs, and activities
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of awards selection activities at the home institution or with other similar organizations, preferably in academic medicine

All applications must include the following:

Combine all documents into one PDF before submitting.

  • Cover letter (2-page maximum) addressed to B. Star Hampton, MD, Secretary-Treasurer and Chair, Awards Selection Committee, that includes:
    • Why you would like to work on this committee and what you would bring to this group
    • Recent APGO participation in meetings, programs, and activities
    • Examples of similar experience with other awards selection processes, where applicable
  • Current curriculum vitae
