Task Force Convened to Support Vice Chairs of Education in Ob-Gyn

At its August meeting, the APGO Board of Directors approved the creation of a formal task force dedicated to developing resources for Vice Chairs of Education (VCEs) in ob-gyn. A recent publication, Vice Chairs of Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology: Prevalence, Scope, and Ongoing Challenges (J Surg Educ 2024 Dec) highlighted the growing prevalence of the VCE role across ob-gyn departments. Additionally, strong engagement at the VCE affinity breakfast during the 2025 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting underscored the need for continued connection and support among individuals in these positions.

In the coming months, the APGO VCE Task Force will launch several new resources, including a sample job description and targeted programming at the 2026 CREOG & APGO Annual Meeting.

VCEs are also invited to join the new APGO Member VCE Listserv, a community designed to foster collaboration, peer support, and the exchange of best practices among APGO member VCEs. The Task Force will post updates once or twice a month, and listserv members are encouraged to share questions, input, and ideas to strengthen the network.

To join, please complete the listserv registration form. By registering, you agree to follow the APGO Vice Chair of Education Listserv Guidelines.

Please share this information with your VCE colleagues. For questions, please contact apgoadmin@apgo.org.
